Beginning development as early as the 1840’s, Halsey (pronounced Hall-see) was named after then Vice-President of the Willamette Valley Railway, William L. Halsey. The train depot was built in 1870-1871 and is the oldest depot in all of Oregon. It is located just off of I-5 halfway between Eugene and Albany.
