McKenzie River continues east through the McKenzie Valley and into the mountains, with lots of little towns along the way including: Blue River, Vida, Leaburg, Walterville, and McKenzie Bridge. The McKenzie Valley widens as the river continues west, receiving the Mohawk River from the northeast side just north of Springfield.
The McKenzie River is a great place to fish for Chinook salmon, and bull and rainbow trout. Also a great place to observe wildlife such as bald eagles and osprey. The McKenzie River is also a popular place for boating, fishing, kayaking, and whitewater rafting.
